Dear Colleagues,

The Thirteenth International Conference of Legal Metrology and the 43rd Meeting of the International Committee of Legal Metrology will take place in Sydney, Australia, on 28, 29 and 31 October 2008.

Several other meetings, including Regional Legal Metrology Oragnizations and the OIML Working Group on Conformity to Type, will also be organized on this occasion.

A number of key issues will require decisions to be taken, including the 2009-2012 Budget, and of course the formal sanction of the Recommendations approved by the Committee over the past four years.

Again this year, I invite you to be ready to take the floor during the CIML Meeting and to present your views on the various issues to be discussed.

It is essential that the Committee have sufficient voting members for a quorum. Therefore:

- if you are unable to personally attend this meeting, please ensure you delegate your vote to a member of your staff or to a representative of your Embassy in Australia;

- if you anticipate that you or your delegation may be absent during any of the CIML Meeting sessions, please give a proxy to another CIML Member when registering.

The deadline for registering is 1 August 2008.
