 Sydney, with a population of almost 4 million, and covering almost 1120 square kilometres (700 square miles), is Australia's biggest, oldest and most cosmopolitan city. It is surrounded by beautiful beaches and national parks, and makes for one of the world's most attractive countries. Sydney Harbour splits the city into North and South; its 250 km of shoreline can be explored on ferries, yachts, cruise vessels, high-speed jet boats or sea kayaks. The most well known beach is the fabulous Bondi Beach, which lies some 10 km from the city. Manly Beach is another very famous, popular and superb beach, and the ferry ride to reach it takes about 30 minutes. Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge are "must do" tourist attractions, and Sydney Tower and the Pennant Hills Koala Park should also be seen. Google Earth and Google Maps Discover Sydney, the Star City Hotel and surrounding country with Google Earth, a FREE satellite photo program for Windows which lets you zoom right in from a view of the whole planet, often to as close as a single house just with a simple click of a mouse. We have identified several landmarks in Sydney. If you wish to install Google Earth on your PC, click here to download the program (about 13 Mb). Next, install the program on your PC and launch the application. Save the respective Google Earth file to your computer's
desktop then double click on it; this will take you directly to each location.
